Let’s talk about the most pressing thing first! Our live and livestreamed original cyberpunk action dramedy pilot reading/performance is Sunday, April 5 at 12:30 pm pacific!
If you get a livestream ticket, you have up to two weeks after the performance to watch it! So even if you can’t watch it as it’s live, you can still watch it and support us and our cast, who get ninety percent of the proceeds!
We made little character promos for everyone, you saw ours at the top of this newsletter. Here’s the rest!

Are you not enticed?!?!?! We have decided that you are!
Please buy tickets so we can pay our amazing cast! And so you can see this show that’s full of action and humor and sci-fi weirdness and love and pathos and violence and plasma beams! Truly, you don’t wanna miss it. We’re so proud of it, and our cast is bringing it to life in wonderfully amazing ways.
Live and in-person in LA, and live streaming from anywhere!
Sliding scale tickets available if you need them!
ASL interpreted!

Tilly actually got mentioned in this article about the Joy Who Lived festival, which is bananas as only a small handful of people out of the hundreds involved were mentioned at all!

And our Robo Waitress Assassins show even got a writeup on Broadway World!!

Long Away is officially screening at WonderCon this SUNDAY, MARCH 29 at 12:15 pm in Room North 100B! Panel and Q&A with us and Griffin Kelly, Justin Lawrence Barnes, Dr. Erin Macdonald, and Jessie Earl immediately following!
Iiiiiin fact, here’s our full WonderCon schedules!

Come see us and get stuff signed, and hear us yap about comics stuff, and see our film! Yeah!
Nominations for the Hugo Awards close on March 28, and Star Trek Voyager: Homecoming is eligible in the Best Graphic Story or Comic category. If you’re a member and nominating, we’d appreciate your consideration if you dug what we did!

Also! This is part of the Joy Who Lived festival, but it happens much later than all the stuff above, so we’re putting it last for now. The festival has a “workshop week,” and Tilly’s teaching a class on writing pilots and pitching!
There’s only twelve spots available, so if you’re in Los Angeles, are trans, nonbinary, or gender-nonconforming, and wanna learn how we do what we do, grab a spot before they’re gone!

And then, finally, we stopped by the POPSKL podcast to chat with three lovely friends of ours about the first season of Starfleet Academy. It resulted in this goofy screenshot, so please enjoy.

WHAT WE’RE WORKING ON
Well. Did you know putting on a live show is so much work?! We were incredulous about this two weeks ago.
But then we had the tech rehearsal, and costume decisions to make, and props to get, and a tech script that had to be made for the tech director for the tech rehearsal… phew.
Allllllso, we’ve been reviewing… stuff… for… some other stuff… that we’ll hopefully be able to say officially in the next issue. It’s not a new project, but it is writing related, so stay tuned. But that’s also eaten a lot of our time. For good reason!
TRANS TUESDAY UPDATE
We spent an entire essay/episode interviewing comic writer Jadzia Axelrod about her original DC superhero, Galaxy, in anticipation of her new graphic novel that releases on May 5. We’ll tell you more about that in a sec!

And then we spent an entire essay talking about Superman, specifically James Gunn’s 2025 film version, and its amazing and beautiful quiet trans affirmation. And, like, we need loud trans affirmation right now, in this political climate we’re in. But it all starts somewhere.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Galaxy is such a remarkable character in so many ways. She’s a brand new superhero in the DC universe, she’s trans right on the surface. She was created by a trans woman. And she’s the first trans character to headline a graphic novel series.
You absolutely can start with As the World Falls Down, out May 5, but if you want the “story up to now” so that this book means more, start with Galaxy: The Prettiest Star and then Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story.
We need this kind of mainstream authentic trans representation so badly right now, but even outside of that, they’re just incredibly good superhero comics.
THE DIRTBAG DISPATCH
Cats are, invariably, little weirdos, each in their own way.

Henry will decide it’s time for rare cuddles when he lays next to you, but then decide the best way to do that is to sink his claws into your leg. Why, man?! You know they’re sharp!

And Izzy seems to do this every couple days or so… just sits right in front of the television and… stares into it. While it’s off.
Little. Weirdos.
WHAT’S IN THE BIG TIME?
Big Time issue 35 talks about the nuance of being a panelist at conventions, which probably isn’t as easy as you think. It’s also got more exclusive character concept art from one of our sci-fi comic pitches!
Sign up for it at birdguestbroadcast.com and help us pay rent and eat food and stuff!
THE END
We’re gonna get through these next two weeks!
And then collapse.
What do you mean we have two hugely important meetings the week after our live show?!
