Now we hear you saying that schedule doesn’t look super-packed, but what you need to know is every moment between all of those listed appearances is filled with editor meetings, interviews, press, and parties (don’t mistake “parties” there, they’re all basically networking events full of comics pros).
It’s likely we won’t even have time to get away from the con to eat on any of those days, because it’s so big and there are so many people, that it can take half an hour or more just to walk to a restaurant, and then you have to wait for a table because they’re super busy, and since they’re super busy the service isn’t always super fast, and then you need at least half an hour to get back to the con.
And there is absolutely nowhere in there we have 2+ hours free to do that. Soooo we’re gonna load up on snacks and that’ll have to do. That’s SDCC for you.
Relatedly: we’ll be taking the next issue of the newsletter off, because there simply will not be time to write one with SDCC madness going on. The next issue will go out August 12! And it’ll have our con recap, in case you weren’t there!
And don’t forget, Long Away presently has two more confirmed screenings besides the one Friday night at SDCC, in the southeast and… the midwest! We received notification that we got into another festival just after the last newsletter went out. It’s coming to Chicago!

WHAT WE’RE WORKING ON
The new pilot is reallllllly cookin’, and the first draft is complete! Now it’s on to revising, more revising, still more revising, and we can’t believe we’re still revising.
We’ve also done more approvals and revisions for PotDCU, as the lettering portion of the book moves closer to completion.
Outside of those, wrangling our SDCC schedule has been eating a lot of time. There’s always so many conflicts, and so you have to see if one thing can shift to another time you have open, and if not maybe the conflicting thing can shift, and if not… you have to turn something down. It’s tough and a total headache, but it’s gotta get done.
Just a whole lotta emails flying all over as we try to squeeze everything in. We'll actually talk about how difficult that is in detail in the Process Stuff section of the paid version of this here newsletter issue, if you wanna toss us five bucks a month to help us get by!
TRANS TUESDAY UPDATE
Tilly’s SIX YEARS OUT AND ON HRT retrospective released a couple weeks ago, so if you want to check in with everything transition-related going on with her six years in, this is the one for you!

And that’s the only Trans Tuesday that’s been released since the previous newsletter, because those are also on a brief hiatus due to SDCC. This con just eats our entire life for weeks.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Silo’s one of the best sci-fi shows running right now, exploring truly fabulous themes of the evils society visits upon us all, the lies it tells, and the boxes it tries to force us all into. Season 3 just started!
It’s also got some of the best production design, and is just always gorgeous and visually evocative in so many ways.
It’s also deeply (and unintentionally? Tilly did a whole 9-part writeup on season 1) trans in the way it explores characters and all the questions it’s asking.
You should be watching it.
THE DIRTBAG DISPATCH
We’ve been pretty worried about Henry, he’s been barfing a lot (more than normal, though he's always been somewhat barfy), and has lost about a pound over the past month. We took him to the vet and he had x-rays and blood work ($$$) and that left us with two possible culprits. Neither is great, but one is definitely a lot worse. He’s got an appointment with a specialist at the end of this week ($$$$) who may need to do a biopsy ($$$$$$) sooo we’ll see what happens.
He does have stretches of good days, though, where we know he’s feeling better because he’s back to being his normal asshole self. Send good kitty thoughts his way for us, if you would.
